A loan of $1,050 helped to buy underwear, outerwear, and shoes.

Pastricia El Carmen's story

Patricia sells shoes and clothes to a large number of current clients who are made up of her neighbors, friends, family, and referrals in the Soledad municipality in the city of Barranquilla. Her experience as an entrepreneur began when she first worked selling computer parts. Feeling that she had good business sense, she decided to go solo and took a risk by investing her savings in merchandise like shoes and clothes to sell to her co-workers. Later she connected with a factory that offers its products through catalogues, and there she got her own distributor. Finally she began to buy directly from a shoe supplier and another supplier for clothes. With that she reduced her costs since she bought at a better price. Now she would like to continue growing, and that’s the reason she’s approached Kiva, first financing through Fundación Mario Santo Domingo. With that she will buy underwear, outerwear, and shoes in order to meet the great customer demand of the busiest shopping season and the New Year’s celebration.
