A loan of $2,250 helped a member to install flooring in the rooms that she rents.

Mujeres Virtuosas Group's story

María has worked in the cleaning division of the Lima municipality for approximately seven years. She is 43 years old. Many times she feels tired; her work is very self-sacrificing because she works at night.

María’s daughter is special; she suffers from an illness and needs a lot of care. At times María cannot care for her because of her work. That is why she will stop working in order to devote herself to her daughter.

She uses the income from her work to improve her house, especially the rooms that she rents. This generates additional income. This time she will use the loan to install flooring in the rooms.

She wants to have her own business, and she is thinking about a grocery store.

She is the president of the Mujeres Virtuosas communal bank, which is comprised of seven members.
