Lluvia Estrellas Tlacoachis Group's story

This group is called “Lluvia de Estrellas Tlacoachis.” The group members decided on this name because for them it represents a downpour of hope and opportunities to improve their lives.

This story is about Noelia who is the group representative. She’s 27 years old and married to Sinforiano; they have three children, Camila, Abel and Carlos who are in fourth and sixth grade in elementary school and in third year of preschool. She has been making and selling tablecloths for ten years.

Noelia decided on this business because she says she wanted to find a way to improve her and her family’s quality of life and also give a good education to her little children. She will invest the loan in the purchase of supplies like: thread, yarn, fabric and quadrilles at wholesale to continue making her crafts.

The dream she has is building a locale at home to install her traditional clothing store in to continue with her sales, to have it much better stocked with more variety of articles of clothing because that way she’ll obtain more and better income to continue supporting her children with their schooling so that they can attain professional careers.

She is very grateful to Fundación Realidad and to Kiva for the support from the loan she was granted because thanks to it her business will start to improve much; her live and her family’s life will change also.

The members of the group and the activities they carry out are the following: Juana-embroidery, Magdalena, embroidery, Sara, embroidery, Noelia, embroidery and Julia, embroidery.
