A loan of $275 helped to buy vegetables to increase the inventory of her business.

Maria Elvira's story

Maria Elvira, 32, is a mother and head of household with 2 children in her care. Because she separated from her husband, Maria Elvira saw the need to return to work so that she could take on the burden of the household expenses. She started out working in a sales post selling vegetables where she managed to learn what she needed about this type of work, and later with her savings she established her own post selling vegetables in the main park of Támesis, to the southeast of Antioquia. Since then, she has been working hard with the aim of providing for her children, and providing them with the education that they need. She dreams of being able to increase her sales, of growing her business so that she can leave a legacy to her children where they can work and have economic stability. In the future she wants her children to be able to buy their own homes with their work, and so for this reason she sustains a relentless pursuit of business growth. To do this, she needs to buy vegetables to increase the inventory of her sales post and make it more attractive to customers, so that she can increase her sales and achieve a better quality of life for her children.
