Demur's story

Demur lives in the village of Kvaliti, West Georgia with his family: his wife Ketevan, 40 years old, his son, daughter-in-law and three grandchildren (2, 3 and 5 years old).

Demur works as a taxi driver in a nearby town. His son is leading the agricultural activities of the family. Ketevan and her daughter-in- law are housewives and care for the three children.

The family has two milk cows. They produce and sell on average 30 kg of cheese at the local market. In addition, they have a pig, which gives to the family on average 10 piglets for sale per year. Along with the abovementioned, the family owns 1,500 wine trees. They produce wine and sell it locally. The total average monthly income of the family is 550 laris.

Demur requested a loan for purchasing an additional milk cow. They will be able to produce more cheese, which will be sold at the local market. It will increase the income of the family by 16%. Demur will spend it for purchasing additional goods for the children, to improve their living conditions.
