Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $1,500 helped to purchase clothes in bulk for resale.

Wisal's story

Wisal is a conservative woman, so her husband is photographed in the store instead of her.

Wisal is a 21-year-old young woman. She is married and her husband has a clothes store, which is the only source of income for the family. Wisal wants to help her husband to purchase clothes in bulk so that he will have a new collection of winter clothes to resell and increase his income. However, she has insufficient funds so she needs to take a loan from Kiva partner FATEN for $1,500.
When Wisal gets the loan, she will be able to help her husband to buy a new collection of winter clothes to resell. This will enable her husband to compete with other sellers and increase his sales. He has many loyal customers and so will be able to increase his income and offer his family better living conditions.
