Mariana De Jesús's story

Mariana is a member of the “Los Talvos” communal bank. She lives in a community belonging to Del Valle Parish in Cuenca also called San Bautista del Valle. It has beautiful places to enjoy nature’s scenery and its residents are merchants, raise livestock farm and many of them work daily in the city.

Mariana is 26 years old, married and has two children who are 5 and 4 years old; her oldest son attends school. Her husband works in construction as a bricklayer. The house they live in belongs to a relative.

She does her household chores and cares for her children but since she spends most of her time at home she also raises pigs, guinea pigs and chickens.

She has been a member of the communal bank for four years and will use her new loan to buy chickens and pigs. Her goal is to have an Internet access and telephone booth service center.
