A loan of $975 helped to buy men's and women's clothing.

Lenny's story

33-year-old Lenny is a hard-working and tenacious woman who is also kind and friendly. She is separated from her partner but has a son who lives with her. She also lives with her mother and her two siblings. One of her siblings is married and has a family. They live together in her mother's house.

Lenny's business is selling food such as 'ceviche' (traditional marinated fish dish). She has premises in her mother's house which they called 'Cevicheria La Calesita'. She has been running the business for 10 years and very kindly serves her customers with the support of her mother, her sister-in-law and her siblings when they have free time. In parallel with this, she also sells seasonal men's and women's clothing. Her customers are her friends, who she serves based on their orders for the most beautiful and fashionable clothes. She makes her sales personally and has been doing this for five years. Lenny enjoys both businesses as they keep her busy and make her income with which to cover her own expenses and those of her son who she loves very much. She has plans to expand her business and start another. She plans to set up a stationery store in her mother's house as well as they have the space they need for this.

This will be Lenny's 12th loan from MFP. She feels grateful for the financial support that she receives which enables her to make progress in her business. She also feels comfortable with her community bank as she knows most of the members and considers them to be friendly and supportive people. Lenny will use the 2,600 soles she has requested to invest in buying men's and women's clothing as she has orders to fill.
