A loan of $4,700 helped a member to expand her store's inventory of goods.

Machimbo Group's story

Pelepetua is a single woman in her late twenties. To earn a living, for the past year she has been running a general store. She works from 7 am to midnight, and she is able to earn nice monthly profits from doing so.

This would be Pelepetuas’s second loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan, which she successfully repaid, to increase her inventory of items in her shop and to pay school fees. She is now seeking this second loan to again increase her stock of goods to sell to her customers. Pelepetua’s dream is to one day build her own house.

Pelepetua will share this loan with her loan group, "Machimbo," which has a total of 16 members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.

In this group: Pelepetua, Andrew, Fredy, Asha, Febronia, Mariam, Rehema, Frida, Marino, Emanuel, Jofrey, Frank, Kobelo, Selina, Silvester, Kirian
