Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $2,000 helped to purchase a fridge for keeping frozen food.

Rasmiya's story

Rasmiya, a 57-year-old woman, is the mother of four sons and two daughters. Her husband is a Palestinian National Authority employee with a decent salary. Rasmiya has a small grocery store, established five years ago in the place where she lives, which helps her pay for life expenses. Rasmiya wants to buy a new fridge for keeping frozen food to resell in her store, but since her income is low and her husband's salary is not sufficient to cover this purchase, she needs a loan from FATEN. When Rasmiya gets the loan, she will be able to improve her grocery store and buy more frozen food to resell. This will increase her sales and increase her income positively. Rasmiya appears in this photograph.
