Viky Karen's story

The Communal Bank Women Who Fight to Get Ahead meets every two weeks in the Picoaza parish in the city of Portoviejo. It is a well known area for being commerce friendly, the traditional festivities of Saint Peter and Saint Paul and for the vivacity of its people.

Mrs. Karen lives in that place, she is 21 years old and has a common law marriage and has two children of 6 and 2 years of age, the oldest is attending school. Her husband is a salesman.

Mrs. Karen is a young mother and housewife and to have her own resources she sells clothing by catalogue and Avon products (beauty products, makeup, perfumes and accessories for women). She works everyday in the mornings and door to door, Mrs. Karen leaves her products on credit and collects every week. Mrs. Karen receives her products in her home and the clothing she picks up at a distributer in Picoaza. She has worked for three years in this field and does very well, what she sells most are perfumes and women’s clothing.

This loan will be used to buy perfumes, creams, makeup and all types of clothing. This is Mrs. Karen’s sixth loan with her Communal Bank and is happy with it since thanks to the loans she is able to get ahead.

Her dream is to provide her children with the best.
