A loan of $1,075 helped a member to buy leather, nails and a shoe polisher for shoemaking business.

Ayesha Bibi's Group's story

Ayesha Bibi, aged 55 years, is an uneducated woman. She has given birth to three children: two sons and a daughter. Her elder son is a laborer while her youngest son studied until the 6th standard level. Her daughter is uneducated and helps Ayesha in managing the household work and taking care of the family members.

Ayesha’s husband is a cobbler by profession. He makes shoes on order. His work is home based. He gets orders from different shoe factories and shoe shops and meets them on time to generate income for the family. Ayesha has requested a loan from Kiva partner Asasah for the further expansion of her husband’s business. With the loan, her husband will purchase leather, nails and a shoe polisher in larger quantities for finishing the orders and to earn maximum profits. Ayesha is hopeful that her husband’s business will be expanded further after the loan investment.
