A loan of $1,200 helped to buy cacao plants, fertilizer, compost, and weed-killer.

Oswaldo Clemente's story

Oswaldo Clemente is forty-six, married, and has two children. He lives in Chillanes in Bolivar Province with his wife and children, aged nineteen and seventeen.

The Tendal communal bank has eleven members, both men and women, and is located forty-five minutes from the cooperative.

Oswaldo Clemente earns his living in agriculture, growing cacao, bananas, plantains, and oranges. He buys supplies in San José del Tambo every fifteen days. He's seeking a loan to buy cacao plants, fertilizer, compost, and weed-killer. The loan will allow him to improve both production and his family's lifestyle.

His dream is to have his own car to transport his products. His challenge is the low price his product demands.

In his spare time, Oswaldo Clemente likes to play sports, especially soccer. He's respectful, responsible, and doesn't like party-going.
