A loan of $3,025 helped a member to buy clothes to stock her business.

Proyectandonos Group's story

This communal bank is called “Proyectándonos” and is made up of 17 entrepreneurs who run different businesses among which are: clothes making, fast food preparation, and others. They all belong to the city of Puerto Montt.

Juan Carlos is the president of the bank and appears in the photo at the end of the group, the third person from right to left, wearing a red jacket and short hair. He has sold used clothes for the last 3 years and for the last year has been in a fixed locale for which he has the requisite permits and licenses. He is also involved in gastronomy as by profession Juan Carlos is a chef. He has premises where he offers banqueting services through which he promotes the local food of the area. He buys his merchandise at importers in the city of Santiago.

With the loan he will buy clothes to stock his business. The rest of the money he will save so as to attain one of his goals, which is to start a local food chain.

Juan Carlos will get married in February 2012 and he says that he is very happy.

He is very grateful for the opportunity given him by Fondo Esperanza as it will allow him to invest in his business. His communal bank group is committed and responsive to each of the businesses.
