Lim's story

Mrs. Lim U. , 55, and her husband, Tep Heang, have been married since 1979. They have seven children; six sons and one daughter. Four of their children are employed full time and the others are studying at the local school. The family lives approximately thirteen kilometers from Phnom Penh.

Mrs. U. has been selling Cambodian cookies and vegetables for four years. She purchases the food products in her village and resells them at the Ta Kmao market in the city. Her husband has been a construction worker for over ten years.

She is requesting a loan in the amount of $1000. She will use this money to purchase a motorbike for her children to commute to work in Phnom Penh.
