A loan of $1,525 helped a member to buy chickens to resell.

Virgen De Santa Ines Group's story

The committee is called “Virgen de Santa Inés.” The members are grateful for the opportunity Fundación Paraguaya is providing since they will have new opportunities to undertake better work contributing to family income and thus providing their children with improved wellbeing. The committee is in its first cycle and has 12 members. Each has her own productive activity. They are united, responsible and mutually supportive with one another.

Rafaela is one of the members. She tells us that she sells chickens and comments that she does very well because chicken has turned into an alternative to meat which is very expensive. She says that thanks to this work she’s been able to get ahead and help her family and to cover daily expenses.

She asks for the loan to buy chickens to stock up and meet customer demand. She thanks the foundation and Kiva for the opportunity they are providing her.
