A loan of $400 helped to buy cereals.

Guediouma's story

Guediouma was born around 1970 in Kambo in the Kadiolo prefecture. Father to five children he lives in a traditional family in Kadiolo (third administrative region of the republic of Mali).

He has been managing a business marketing cereals for more than five years. His experience in this domain has brought him a good reputation and he receives orders for cereals, notably corn.

In order to have the necessary resources to satisfy his clientèle, he is collaborating with the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso, with whom he is on his first loan. This loan will allow him to buy 3 1/2 tons of corn. He gets his supplies in Kambo and its neighboring villages. The cereals are stored in his store. He resells them wholesale for cash to a clientèle made up of men and often transports the cereals to Sikasso as needed.

With this loan, he envisions making an average monthly profit of 70,000 FCFA. This profit will allow him to pay the interest on his loan and invest the rest in his business.
