A loan of $600 helped to buy grains.

Seydou's story

Seydou was born in 1974 in Tiokorola, in the Sikasso region. He lives in a traditional family with his wives and is the father of two children. He lives in Kadiolo prefecture, within the third administrative district of Mali. He has been in the grain business for over eight years. His experience in this area has earned him a good reputation and he receives orders for grains, especially maize. In order to have the necessary funds to satisfy his customers, he has decided to work with the Soro Yiriwaso micro-finance institution and has requested his first loan with them. This loan will allow him to buy three and a half tons of maize. He buys his merchandise in and around Kambo. He stores his grains in his shop. He sells wholesale for cash to male customers and often carries his orders to Sikasso if necessary. With this loan, he is expecting average monthly profits to reach 80,000 CFA francs. The profits earned will allow him to repay the interests on his loan. He will invest the rest in his business.
