A loan of $4,950 helped a member to re-stock missing items in her shop.


Vikindu Group's story

Flora, who is in her early 40s, is married with four children who go to school. She has been running a retail business since 2002. She works from 6.00 am to 10.00 p.m daily and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be her 2nd loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to increase the stock in her shop and to pay school fees and household expenses. She has paid back her first loan successfully. She wants a loan to re-stock missing items in the shop. Her dream is to one day be able to build her own house.

She will hold this loan with her loan group "Vikindu," which has a total of 22 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans. (The person writing in the background of the photo is not part of the group.)
