A loan of $750 helped to buy construction materials such as cement, blocks, bricks, iron, timber and other things.

Alcida's story

Alcida was born in Quillabamba, in the province of La Convención, but she lives in the settlement of Rumichaca in Urubamba. (The province of Urubamba is located north of the city of Cusco, on the shores of the Vilcanota River, in a zone known as the "Blessed Valley" thanks to the pleasant climate, fertile land and abundant streams that make the valley one of the most beautiful places on the planet.)

Alcida is 29 years old and has two children with her partner. She works in a large house, where she does a range of tasks, such as cleaning, washing clothes, cooking and other work. She has been working in the house for a year and it is going well thanks to the effort she puts into carrying out her tasks.

Alcida needs the loan to build her home, or at least to buy construction materials such as cement, blocks, bricks, iron, timber and other things. Her dream is to build her house, and she is now close to completing that dream. The other dream she has is to see her children grow into professionals.

Alcida is a member of the “Nueva Vision de Rumichaca” communal bank. This group is made up of 19 members who live in the province of Urubamba.
