A loan of $750 helped to hire laborers and to buy yucca seeds.

Jorge's story

Jorge, a 59-year-old, is an industrious and diligent, as well as kind and cordial man. He is married to Auria, who is a housewife. Together they inhabit their own house in company with their three children ages 19, 18 and 15, whom they love very much. The activity that Jorge carries out is agriculture. He has 27 hectares of land, where 15 hectares are sown with different plantations such as oranges, pineapples, and yucca, the latter being his main product, which he has cultivated for 18 years. Now the volume of his crop requires the support of at least 5 laborers, who he pays a daily wage of 20 new soles for a days work. He says that he likes life in the field. He knows the work, since his parents taught him this work as a child. Nevertheless the physical exhaustion does not help in the work, but he is full of satisfaction with the economic income, since with it he can give a better education to his children. He has plans to expand and to begin sowing oil producing palms. This it will be his 8th loan with the institution MFP. He is thankful for the support that he receives to grow his business. With the requested total of 2000 new soles, he will invest in sowing yucca. He plans to sow at least 2 hectares of yucca.
