A loan of $925 helped a member to buy food products (corn, etc.) and bags of charcoal.

Fifagbe 2 Group's story

The Fifagbe 2 group consists of four people who live in the same neighborhood. This is the fourth time that this group is requesting financial aid from ALIDé, in order to elevate the level of their business.

The representative of the group, by the name of Germaine, is the one who has her hand raised in the photo. Germaine is 32 years old and lives in Bénin. Germaine stopped school at the primary level. Germaine does not live with her husband anymore. Germaine is mother to two children who both go to school and are under her care. Germaine lives alone with her children. Germaine takes care of the diverse household responsibilities alone.

In order to meet her needs and those of her children, Germaine has been managing a business selling food products (corn etc.) and charcoal in her neighborhood for about ten years. Germaine gets her supplies in a market of Bénin.

In order to satisfy her clientèle and to grow her turnover and her income, Germaine is requesting a fourth loan from ALIDé, together with the other members of the Fifagbe 2 group. The first three loans were well repaid.
