A loan of $1,125 helped to buy vaccines for his cows and to grow more grass.

Segundo's story

Thirty-three-year-old Segundo is a hardworking and industrious man who is also supportive and very kind. He lives with his partner, Jesenia, who is a housewife and together they have two children who are 14 and 2 years old and whom they love very much. They live together in their own home. For a living, Segundo transports passengers on the mototaxi he bought with his own capital and a bank loan four years ago. Since then he goes out and works when he has free time. At the same time, he also raises cattle for a living on the 40 ha. he bought about 12 years ago. He is raising 20 cows and he also grows grass that he uses as their fodder. He has to hire workers, whom he pays 20 nuevos soles per day. He likes working in the fields because it gives him a trade since he didn't finish school and because it provides him with the income to take care of his family and pay for his children's education. He considers that to be the best inheritance he can leave them because he didn't have that opportunity. He is planning to open a small grocery store in his home that his wife would attend to in order to have more income. This will be his sixth loan with MFP and he is thankful for the financial support to be able to go ahead with his plans. He also says that he likes his communal bank because he gets along with all the members, who he considers responsible and friendly. He will invest the requested 3,000 nuevos soles in his cattle-raising business by buying vaccines for his animals and preparing his land to plant more grass for his cows.
