A loan of $525 helped to buy seafood to sell.

Juan Manuel's story

Born in Leo, Juan is a humble businessman, 38 years old, who dedicates himself to selling seafood. His level of education is quite basic: he reached the sixth grade of primary school. He has two children, aged 16 and 7, and both of them are in school.

He started his business with his own capital, with the severance payment he received from his previous job. He also sold raspados [shaved ice with syrup], but he noticed that selling seafood generated a good income, and therefore he now dedicates himself only to selling seafood. He makes his sales at the markets, to which he travels throughout the day to sell his fresh fish. He needs the loan to buy seafood. In his home, he also has a small business raising and selling chickens, which he would also like to expand, since he says that he needs to provide a better standard of living for his children and his wife.
