Carla's story

Carla is 31 years old. She is a determined working woman, but also happy and very friendly. She has been separated from her partner for 2 years. She lives with her 2 children who are 9 and 6 years old who she loves so much and who are her motivation. They live comfortably in her own house. Carla is a baker, making pastries, cakes and buffet meals for all social occasions such as birthday parties, school graduations, weddings and so forth. And for this Christmas season she has an order to make panettones on her gas stove that she bought 2 years ago with a loan from MFP, installing it in her own house, where she makes her products. She has been doing this for 5 years with the help of a friend that she pays for the work she delivers. She likes her work because she loves to bake. This is work she learned at a vocational education center. It brings in the financial earnings that helps to pay for food and educational expenses for her children, which are more than the alimony she receives from the father of her children. In addition, she says that she hopes to open a facility and install display cases where she can show off her products, in a commercial area of the city. This will be her 11th loan through MFP. She is very happy to know that she will have financial help, as she will feel secure going forward with the business. She also tells us that she feels good about the communal bank, and she considers the members to be trustworthy people. With the 2500 soles from the loan, she will buy supplies for making the panettones such as flour, yeast, raisins, fruit, and other items.
