A loan of $1,875 helped a member to buy fabric, needles, buttons, and other sewing supplies.

Kuña Rembiapo Group's story

The committee was formed through some members who were already in the program’s committee. Because they were a bit far from their houses they decided to form a committee within their community. This is the way the committee got started. The group is currently in their third cycle of the enterprising women’s program; there are 15 members.

Lidia, one of the members, is a seamstress. She is 41 years old, married to Carlos; a construction worker, and they have eight children. Their children are their motivation to persevere. Lidia has a special goal to buy more sewing machines. She wants her children to help her make clothes to sell.

She is requesting the loan to buy fabric, needles, buttons, and other supplies to be able to meet her customers’ demand.

In this group: Lidia, Felicita, Justina, Mirtha, Fermina, Facunda, Nathalia, Mariela, Patricia, Blanca, Juana, Maria, Gessica, Miguela*, Florentina*
