A loan of $1,300 helped to purchase additional livestock.

Khabibilla's story

Khabibilla is 49 years old and lives with his family in the Kok-Tash village in southern Kyrgyzstan. He is a happy father of three daughters and an 8 year-old son. Khabibilla works as a lab technician at a local school, but, unfortunately, his salary does not allow him to cover family's expenses. This is why he decided to start his own animal husbandry business at the beginning of the year in 2000. Thanks to his tenacity and persistence, Khabibilla's business, started with a sum of 3,500 som (KGS), yields about 10,000 som (KGS) per month today from sales of dairy and meat products. He sells his products on weekend livestock markets. In order to further increase livestock headcount, Khabibilla requested a loan in the sum of 60,000 som (KGS) from the "Bai-Tushum and Partners" company to purchase additional heads of livestock. He plans to invest the profits from the loan into a further increase of domestic livestock quantities in order to have an opportunity to pay for his children's education in the future.
