Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $2,000 helped a member to buy furniture, toys, and paintings for children to use in lessons.

Gracious Women Group's story

This is 39-year-old Marvelous from Harare, Zimbabwe. She is widowed with three children, all of whom are attending school. Marvelous runs a childcare service that has been in operation for 3 years. She says the main challenge she faces is a shortage of capital. Marvelous has requested a loan of $400 to buy more furniture, toys, and paintings. She says the extra income generated as a result of this loan will allow her to improve the standard of the daycare center. In the future, Marvelous plans to have a presentable and well-equipped daycare.
