A loan of $2,750 helped a member to increase their second-hand shoes inventory.


Nuru Group's story

Ulimwengu, who is in his mid 20s is married with one child who is still young. He has had a second-hand shoes business for three years now. He works from 3.00pm to 7 p.m daily (fours hours) and is able to make a good monthly profit.

This will be his fourth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. He used the previous loans to increase the shoe inventory, pay household expense and he has paid back all his loans successfully. He wants this loan to increase the second-hand shoe inventory. His dream is to one day be able to build his own house.

He will share this loan with his loan group "Nuru" which has a total of 15 members who will hold each other accountable for paying back their loans.
