Mrs. Dith D., 55, is a widow with two children. She looks after her house and cooks for her children; she also owns a plot of farmland where growing rice earns her on average about $2 a day. Her children work in a garment factory, making a salary of $50 each a month. Mrs. D. is requesting a loan from Kiva of $500 to purchase a water pump to irrigate her rice crops.
