A loan of $875 helped a member to buy wood for making furniture.

Espiga Group's story

The group is called "Espiga", and is made up of three persons; two men and a woman. They live in a small community.

Virgionio was the one interviewed. He is married to Elisa, and they have four children who are already married. He says that he applied for the loan in order to buy wood for making furniture. He has been in this business for 20 years. It's going well, and he has managed to earn a good income for his family.

The inspiration for this business was his alone, as he worked for a carpenter, and the idea for this business began from there. He decided to set up his own carpentry shop to earn his own money.

What he most wishes is that with the loan and his hard work, he can continue increasing his business, so that he and his family can get ahead in life.

The people who make up the group are Enrique, who applied for the loan to buy wood for making furniture, and Josefa, who will use the loan to buy ingredients for making tamales.
