A loan of $750 helped to buy spare parts and tools.

Carmen's story

Carmen, 28, is a kind, good-hearted, hard-working woman. She is married to David, 32, and they have a 5-year-old daughter who is the motivation for their effort, work and sacrifice since they want her to have a better lifestyle. They live in their own home as a united, hard-working family. Carmen's work consists of spare parts sales in general. Her store is used partly for sales but also as a motortaxi repair and maintenance shop. It is one of the most well-known shops in the city of Pucallpa and has many customers. The work they do is very good and of top quality which has given it a good reputation and customer recommendation. When she set up the business it was a bit difficult because of her doubts and fears, but with time she overcame them and was able to grow.

What she enjoys most about her work is handling the repairs and making things run like new again. She has been in business for eight years and believes the hardest part is getting the parts needed to do a good job. In the future she would like to be able to sell all brands of spare parts. This is her eighth loan through MFP. She has always been a good member of her communal bank and is much appreciated for being very responsible and supportive. She plans to use the loan to continue expanding her business. She is committed to paying back the loan on time as done with the previous loans.

She plans to use the 2,000 PEN loan to buy spare parts and tools needed in the business so she can keep growing.
