Agustina's story

Augustina is a very responsible person and says that she really likes her livelihood. She is 59 years old and is married to Armando, who is from the countryside. They have 7 children, out of whom only Alexis is in the first year of secondary school, since the others are all married. She has been making and selling snacks and food for more than 40 years. She says that she decided to start her small business due to lack of opportunities for work, and also to support her family and enjoy a higher standard of living. With the loan that is granted to her she will invest in buying more supplies such as tomatoes, chili peppers, onions, potatoes, meat, corn, oil, salt, etc., in order to continue making her delicious dishes. One of the goals that "Doña Tina" (as she is better known in her community) has is to make her business grow even more. She wants to build a place to put a restaurant and have it very well supplied and in this way she will improve and increase her earnings. "I am very appreciative of the Kiva donors and FRAC for all the support and confidence they are according me, since it is thanks to this help that we can count on a better business and quality of life."
