Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $750 helped to buy wholesale rolls of fabric and an upright sewing machine.

Oscar Rodolfo's story

Oscar is a new client of the institution. He works sewing a variety of clothes in a workshop in his own home in the Villa Nuevo Potosí area. He lives with his wife in the house of his in-laws. They do not have children at present, but that is their desire, to expand the family.

The loan will be used to buy wholesale rolls of fabric, polar fleece, and an upright machine. Later on he plans to buy an embroidery machine and a computer to have a complete sewing and embroidery workshop.

He is a very hardworking young man. This is his only work to support his family. In time he wants to expand his products to the different cities of Cochabamba and Oruro.
