Haidar is a 43-year-old Lebanese married man. He lives with his wife and only one child. He’s the main income provider for his family and is seeking to enhance their way of living. In the year 2000, he opened his own shoe shop where he also fixes the broken ones in order to deliver good quality products for his customers. Today, he’s asking for a loan of $700 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase a new collection of shoes for his shop. This Kiva loan will improve his business, thus his revenues. In the future, he plans to open his own shoe factory.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
