Hasan is a 46-year-old Lebanese married man living with his wife and four children. Two of them are working while the other two children are still attending school. He’s the one responsible for covering his family's needs and paying his children’s educational fees. He began to work as an electrician in 1982. He also visits customers at home. Today, he’s requesting to borrow $2,600 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l. to purchase new tools for his business, such as electrical cables. He notes that this will help him serve a wider range of people and earn a higher income. In the future, he plans to open his own electrical products shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
