Mrs. Thol, 32 and a mother of 2 school-age children, has been residing in Kompong Cham province. She earns a living by cultivating rice crops on her own farmland.
With her first loan from Kiva, she intends to purchase a second-hand motorcycle for her whole family to use. This will also better the way she lives and works.
In the future, she hopes to expand her farming business and improve the general living conditions of her family.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
