A loan of $775 helped to buy yarn and dye to weave.

Ruben's story

Rubén is 59 years old and has been married to his 52-year-old wife, Calixta, for the past 20 years. Together, they have three children who are all adults.

Rubén is the son of a farmer and grew up in one of the companies in Carapeguá. He worked the field with his father and at 26, he married Calixta, who is the daughter of a weaver, and they began to work together. They have now been selling traditional bedspreads and hammocks made in the city of Carapeguá for more than 20 years, selling them in Caaguazú and Ciudad del Este. They have a well-established customer base and Calixta is an artisan and weaves the blankets, thereby reducing their cost.

Rubén is requesting the loan for the purchase of yarn and dye to weave hammocks which are in high demand during this season.
