A loan of $750 helped to buy sacks of fertilizers.

Flor's story

Flor, age 47, is a valiant woman. Recently widowed and having to take care of her three children by herself, she spends every day trying to feed her household. Flor lives in the town of Huanchac. Since suffering the loss of her husband, she had to take over the responsibilities of her home and her children. Over time, she has focused her efforts and now has several heads of cattle and sheep as well as some land on which she grows vegetables, potatoes, and quinoa. After harvesting each crop, her sales have done very well. Flor keeps some of her vegetables, but most of them are sold to her neighbors. She also sells her goods in the capital. What she enjoys most about farming is being able to survey her land in order to keep her crops healthy. This guarantees a good crop and profitable earnings. Within the next few months, she will take her harvest to the market in her city. Her greatest wish is to continue growing and improving the breed of her cattle, as well as grow in her business.

Flor is a member of the Communal Bank “Abejitas” (Little Bees) and is receiving her fourth loan with MFP. She is pleased to be part of her Communal Bank because all of the members are responsible and supportive individuals. For this reason, she promises to be punctual with her loan payments. With the support she will receive, Flor will invest the money in the purchase of natural fertilizers for her next planting of potatoes.
