A loan of $4,350 helped a member to buy more charcoal and fish.

Parachichi Group's story

Mwanamkuu is in her early fifties. She is married, with ten children and six grandchildren. She has been selling fish and charcoal for ten years now. She works from 6 am to 10 pm daily and is able to make a good monthly income.

This will be Mwanamkuu’s eighteenth loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used the previous loan to open a new business selling charcoal, and paid back that loan successfully.

She hopes for a loan to buy more charcoal and fish. Mwanamkuu’s dream is to one day be able to open a food shop. Mwanamkuu will share this loan with her loan group, "Parachichi," which has seventeen members. The members of the group will hold each other accountable for paying back the loan.
