Arnold's story

Arnold, age 38, is married and has three children; ages 14, 13, and 6. He lives in Dorado Santa Bábara.

Arnold has been growing coffee for 15 years. He makes the seed beds, and then he plants them. He has two “manzanas” (a manzana is just under half of an acre) and other land that he inherited from his father.

He grows the “paca” and the “catuaí” varieties of coffee. He sells the wet parchment coffee in the local market. His family also devotes itself to this business activity. This product is currently very profitable.

He has requested three loan from ODEF. He has been able to improve his crops with those loans. Now he will invest in planting the coffee nursery, pay labor costs, and buy fertilizers.

His goal is to improve his quality of life and that of his family.
