A loan of $1,125 helped to hire laborers and to buy compost and fertilizer.

Myriam's story

Miriam is 31 years old, and is a working woman. She lives in her own house with her 33 year old husband Emiliano and her little daughter Nayeli who is 8 years old and who offers lots of love.

Miriam teaches at a school in her neighborhood. For 11 years she has been working as a teacher and thanks to her work she came to buy a farm where she can plant cocoa, and she likes farming.

Miriam is a full-time employee teaching students while with the help of her husband she can watch over their crops and also they can work together.

What she likes most about her work is being able to count on her husband to cover the household expenses and the hardest part is when insects ruin their crops. This is why she is asking for financial help so that she can care for her crop, weeding and fertilizing her plants in order to be able to have a good harvest.

This will be her eighth loan through MFP. She feels that the money from the loan will help a lot in the progress of her work. In her communal bank she is considered very dear by the other members. With the 3,000 soles she will hire laborers to weed the crops and she will buy compost and fertilizer with what is left.
