A loan of $1,825 helped a member to buy an awning and food to sell at the market.

Ciudad Real Group's story

Perseverance, initiative and the desire for growth by pushing ahead are part of the fundamental characteristics of the community bank Ciudad Real, formed by six members, mostly women, more than five years ago. This group has been working from a constantly developing place, each member individually. An example of this is Fany who is 33 years old, living with a partner and the mother of two young children. She gets up very early every morning in order to prepare food to sell in the market This is her source of income for the home, which has given her much satisfaction for the long twenty years that she has had her business which she began with her mother. With this latest loan she would acquire an awning and she would buy food. Each member has a particular story of good and bad times throughout their lives, but all of them illustrate every day the desire to prevail for the welfare of their families and businesses.

In this group: Fany, Modesta, Rufino Ledgardo, Liz Elizabeth, Clara Lucila, Julian Cipriano
