Ali is a 43-year-old Lebanese single man living with his only parent. His father is the one covering their living expenses. As for Ali, he decided to work on his own so he started his own business in 2004. He owns a cattle farm just next to his house. He takes a good care of his farm and knows very well that with a little more carefulness he will grow faster. Today, he’s requesting to borrow $2500 from Kiva partner Ameen s.a.l to purchase cattle and fodder for his farm. He notes that this will boost his productivity, and therefore his sales and revenue. In the future, he plans to open a dairy products shop.
Due to political and social challenges in Lebanon, personally identifiable attributes entrepreneurs may have been altered to protect their privacy (i.e., blurring portions of the borrower's picture, not indicating a name and location, etc.). Vitas appreciates Kiva lenders' understanding of these challenges and encourages them to continue their support for Lebanon's borrowers.
