A loan of $2,350 helped a member to buy merchandise.

San Francisco De Asís Group's story

Graciela, 45, is single and has four children two of which are independent and two still dependent. She’s been a member of Edaprospo for 8 months and she sells beverages like beer and soft-drinks, a business she’s had for four years.

She started out selling gelatin snacks and ice-cream with the idea of earning income to cover her needs. She also sells toys, an activity she started a short time ago aiming at increasing her income. To date with effort and hard work she’s managed to build a house and increase her merchandise. She uses her income for food costs and to save. Her plan for the future is to continue growing in her business until she reaches the point of being able to open her own locale.

Graciela plans to use the loan to buy merchandise because sales increase during the Christmas season. She belongs to the “San Francisco de Asís” communal bank which has 7 members; she’s been President of the group for 8 months.
