A loan of $775 helped to buy perfumes, creams, and cosmetics.

Gloria Auxiliadora's story

The communal bank Jaime Roldos meets every 15 days in the Jaramijo (Manta) canton, this place is known for its beautiful beaches that bathe the coasts of this beautiful place. Here, the majority of inhabitants are very hard-working and work in tasks of the sea.

In this place we met Gloria, she is 33 years old, married, and from this relationship has four children. The children are 13, 11, and 7 years old and a baby that is ten months old. The eldest is in high school and the next two are in school. Her husband is a fisherman.

She is a very hard-working woman since besides taking care of her household she works at a factory in town. Also, to generate more income she sells Avon products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and ladies accessories). She works everyday - Monday through Friday she works at the factory and on weekends she sells her products. She sells the products door to door and she also sells them to co-workers. She sells on credit and then collects every fifteen days. She has been selling products for three years and it has been going very well for her.

This loan is to buy perfumes, creams, and cosmetics. This is the fourth cycle at the communal bank and she likes it because the payments are easy to make.

Her dream is to buy another boat for her husband.
