Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

Leidy Johana's story

Sra. Leidy is a homemaker and mother of a four-year-old child. At 21 years of age, Sra. Leidy wants to start her own business of selling fast food since she has knowledge in this area. She wants to contribute financially to her household so that she can provide a better well-being for her son and husband. Her idea is to sell from a vending cart that will be set up on the sidewalk outside of her home where she can sell every night of the week.

In order to start her business, Sra. Leidy needs to buy a vending cart for selling this type of food and the supplies for preparing her dishes. Her dream is to have her own restaurant so that she can provide her son an excellent education.
