Amelia's story

She was born in the district of Boane, province of Maputo, southern Mozambique. She is single and has four children, only one of which still attends school. She completed 6th grade and stoppes for lack of financial conditions. She lives with her family in a house she owns and also supports a niece who lives with her. She has been a businesswoman for over 10 years. She sells garlic in bulk and earns an income of about 4.000mt a month. She uses it to pay for home expenses and saves part of it in her bank account. She has never had loans in other banks. She first heard of Hluvuku through a friend who is also a client of this institution. This is her second loan with Hluvuku. It is for 16.000mt, which she intends to use to purchase garlic in order to increase the quantity of her merchandise. The first loan was for 15.000mt. She pledges to repay as scheduled. In the future she plans to furnish her home and for that reason she intends to request more loans from Hluvuku.
