Touk is 29 years old, married and has only son studying in a primary school. He lives in a rural area located in the Ratanak Mondul district where crop farming is common. He has earned a living as a peasant who grows red maize on his farmland for ten years and he supplements his income by working as a worker.

This is Touk’s first group loan with VisionFund. Now requesting for a loan, he will use this loan to hire workers to harvest his maize crops. He hopes to make more maize to better support his family and also keep his son in school.

The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee.
