Kairaba Group's story

This microcredit group was formed on the 9th July 2002. It is made up of eleven women who live in the same quarter. Their main line of trade is retail.

Madame Alimatou - who is on the left of the photo with her hand raised - is the group leader. She is 40 years old, married, and has six children. She sells soap and detergent for a living. She has been successful in her line of work, in which she has been involved for several years. This loan will enable her to boost her working capital and to better develop her business.

The profits she generates will enable her to improve her family's living conditions (health, food, clothes etc) and to boost her savings.
